when it's time...it will be finished.

Actually, I'm still trying to recover financially from my house build.   Plus my wife is due Dec 8....then the baby comes out.
That's my focus right now...and trying to save more money.

this compound build........will be in the back burner.    Not my priority right now....so if it takes longer, that's fine....so I can save up for it :)

Looks great!

DAMN!  Just noticed it's been over 2 years since you started this thread/project, and it looks like you're still 6-12 months away from the sound of things.

Can't wait to see it finished.  So many of these major projects end up taking so long, and so much changes over that time period (i.e. your house and expecting child) they never actually get finished.  It's sad when it never gets done, and everything gets parted out.

yes, the "plan" started 2 years ago.

actually that's the time when my 1st and 2nd gear started grinding, and I was forced to just leave it at SMG.
SMG started working on it early this year since other cars were ahead of me.
BTF also started working on the compound manifold early this year.

during the past 2 years, I was all "planning"....and trying to get sponsorships from different companies.    I also bought parts for the build.

I don't have deep pockets for this kind of build.  I'm glad I was able to get help from our kappa vendors.....as well as other aftermarket companies.

yes, they only come in white color (rough texture).........

thus the name, White Lightning coatings by Swaintech.

they are not like the other "ceramic coating" that will easily chip off due to heat.   You actually have to use a power tool to to scrub them ...in order for them to come off.

but since it is very textured, you can just easily spray paint them to any color that you want, and that paint will adhere w/o any issues.

I ran into this moron on one of the other kappa forums that insisted his high temp ceramic paint for things like exhaust and barbqs, was the same as a ceramic coatings like jethot's/swaintech's.  He's repeated it many times that he "believes" it works.  I called him on it, and asked him, did you actually measure before and after?  And he replied, no but I think it does. :banghead:

well, what can you do? lol   you can't teach stupid :)

unlike other "ceramic coating".....swaintech white lightning ceramic coating is REAL ceramic that's thickest coating out there.   Other "ceramic coating" is almost just like paint which is very thin.

I believe Joshmass, used his handheld thermo gun...and compared to the pre and post Swaintech coating, and saw the huge difference in temp.

Anyways, on top of swaintech coating for my hot parts/turbine housings...........I always add DEI titanium turbo blankets and DEI titanium wraps......to really keep the heat in.

With my "touch test".........I can touch the turbo blanket (with swaintech coating) after driving my car before.   I'll burn my fingers instantly if there's no turbo blanket even with swaintech coating.

The wraps/blankets + swaintech coating combo really keeps the heat in.........and slows down heat inside your engine bay.  Plus of course, help the turbo spool faster :)

They use Zircotec which is one of the top in the world, if you ever saw an F1 engine, latest Ferrari or Lambo engine, all are made by Zircotec from UK.

zirotec looks very similar to swaintech huh?
very good product......

only difference I can see right now from the quick glance i did......

zirotec = 0.012" coating thickness, rated around 2,550 degrees F

swaintec = 0.015" coating thickness, rated around 3,000 degrees F

other cheap coating = 0.002" coating thickness

but I think, once you're in the 2,500 degrees F range.....you'll start melting engine parts anyways...lol

crazy....

Hey I do remember talking with them about that!  Except I think I was talking about Jet Hot and how the warranty is different between if they coat a new part or one that has been used.
