Of course, another speed bump on this build :(

Engine started over heating, and BTF saw that on my killer glass radiator tube (transparent glass), coolant wasn't flowing. He suspects that water pump died :(

or you need to burp the coolant.

Far from it! Lol!

Last year....right before my timing chain skipped, car was near 500whp.
What's that equivalent to hp?
Multiply the WHP times 1.17 for engine HP.  That's assuming there is a 17% loss in the drive train.

Actually found out that the head started to lift around 35 psi pushing coolant out.

The regular ARP studs we're using (190,000 psi tensile strength) doesn't like too much boost.

The thermostat was replaced and water pump is fine.

So we are upgrading to L19 arp studs that has around 240-260,000 psi tensile strength to keep the head from lifting even if we boost 45+ psi.

I run L19's in my car as well torqued to 120 ftlbs. It has seen 40psi and ive never had any issues. Be sure to wear gloves when handling them and don't touch them with bare skin, or you will risk corrosion!

I was trying to get a custom 625+ but it will take several weeks to get a custom set :(

And yes, unfortunately, L19 has all these PITA procedures and maintenance :(

625 has a stronger clamping force and way easier to install. Plus will not corrode easily like L19

Oh well....

So L19s will do.
Since we need to wrap this thing
And is an UPGRADE compared to using the regular arp studs

No I haven't.

Are they compatible with ours?
I'm so out of the loop lol

Currently we have no fueling issues with my current set-up.
Zzp cam with big fuel lobe
Opel injectors

They supply about 90% of fuel

My port injectors about 10% of fuel

Well for the past few days, while the head was out, Rick Gifford aka BTF found out a lot of issues and probably caused coolant flow stoppage, as well as limited the whp on dyno:

1.) #SMGmotoring  #fredsimmonsjr is a CROOK!!! Save your money, and go somewhere else! He supposed to install aftermarket valves that I supplied him, and do valve job/headwork but he ripped me off! He never did any headwork! Plus on top of that, he plugged old stock valves on my head! He even used different kinds of valves! #SMGmotoring #fredsimmonsjr is a POS scumbag!
I paid him full price and referred customers to his shop, in return he stole my aftermarket valves, and didn't do his job!

Even my good friend Joshua Guzzetti with his solstice "project scarab", this SMG shop installed used cam followers which caused the catastrophic engine damage on his build :(

2.) head started lifting after 35psi and regular arp studs need to be upgraded. We recently got ARP L19 set which should be able to handle 45-50psi.
During high boost, coolant was being pushed out.

Hopefully, after all these issues have been fixed, we can achieve the whp goal!

I would like to bring him to court.

The problem is, he installed the head around 2011, and I pull the car away from his shop June 2012.

BTF had my car since then.

BTF didn't start working on the car til 2013.

When he recently removed the head to replace the headgasket, he noticed that a valve look different. Then upon closer inspection, he saw 3 intake valves as well as 3 exhaust valves were different!

I confronted SMG yesterday, and he denied everything. He said that he worked on the car soooo long ago.
That he installed all parts I gave him, and he worked on my head.

I told him that it's only him who touched my head, and Rick removed it recently and discovered all these mess.

But he just denied everything.

If we go to court, since he installed this 3 yrs ago, it will just be a he said ....i said battle.
How can I prove to the judge my accusations towards him? He can easily say that I replaced the head to stock during the last 3 years, and now blaming him

Well, for the past three weeks lots of parts were upgraded to these:
- ZZP gen 3 LDK girdled block (BTF will o-ring)
- ZZP stage 2 cams
- brand new LNF head, valves, crank.
- ARP L19 head studs

Will continue to use Carrillo H-beam rods, Wiseco Pistons, and Supertech valve springs

No SMG didn't touch the block. He just installed it back to my car.

Bates engineering built my block.

It is still intact, but I guess due to high boost pressure we are applying the two inside/middle sleeves sunk .0003". So the deck just needs to be machined.  Has no cracks/no nothing.   But I don't have time for that.
It will be a good back up block.

While engine is out, might as well upgrade to a gen 3/LDK block which has lots of advantages over LNF block. Cooling efficiency is one of them.
