I did this using Deedle's 2009 Solstice GXP Coupe, but the process is the same for all Kappas
It took 5 minutes to remove and 6 minutes to install with panel adjustments.

Awesome video DeepBlueGXP, and Joe you make it seem so easy. I would recommend that this thread should be made a sticky thread on the forum. Would be a great help to those needing to remove the battery.

I would spend at least 10-15 minutes extra once it is off and clean the areas you normally never have access to.

A great couple of videos! I got to see the disassembly done quickly but with a plan for a proper reassembly. Now I want one of those ooga horns! Thanks again ... Craig

one of the most usefull posts ever!!!
now, i can change battery on my own, clean those areas, maybe work on removing the fake Sky air outlets or just practice and practice to outbeat your outstanding 14.25 min record!

I was able to remove the battery without removing the framework that you did. Maybe because I don't have the ugga horn. Also, if you remove the negative post first, you don't have to worry about shorting to ground when removing the positive post.

GM just removed and replaced mine, as it was still under warranty. Nice to get a good look at the process though.

I don't know if the fender liner method or removing the fender panel method is "better". But the fender liner method is pretty quick comparatively. I didn't do any damage to the plastic fender liner doing it that way, and I did it in pretty cold weather (around freezing temp). With all the horror stories, I was surprised at how quick it was (40-45 min ish) and I wasn't exactly rushing, cleaned out the area, sprayed down some rust proofing and cleaned up the terminals in that time too.

I was not as quick as Joe but it really was easy. I did it in about a half hour (including pauses to watch Joe in the video).

I changed mine through the fender. It wasn't hard at all and didn't take much time and saved me a ton of moola!

I saw this post after swapping mine.
I followed the steps in the Video.
I had briefly looked at going through the wheel well, but I just didn't see there being enough space with the tire still mounted.

FYI- on cars with Vertical doors. The Support for the Hinge makes it a slightly tighter fit.
