Let's see...

Sometime in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, eye lashes were installed on my car.  I'll have to upload the pic to do this justice.  I had to take them off Wednesday after the run because they were flapping on the paint and leaving marks.  But they will hold up to 70+ mph on the highway.

Friday my car became a flood victim.  Apparently news spreads fast because I had several people coming up to me and saying they heard my car had been flooded.  Which was true.  Joe from JPM said it looked like a swimming pool. And it does smell a little.  :(

Saturday...my car got a new clutch, new slave cylinder, and the transmission fluid got flushed!  The clutch loosened it's grip a little on the way home and I can actually drive the car again!!!   And I'm really liking it!

This is where it happened , somewhere between the towns of Tazewell & Thompson Valley. Oh and on the other side of the G/rail it was around a 100ft Straight down  .I was lucky at least.

I'm an idiot and left the top down while we went white water rafting. A huge rain storm came thru and it poured rain in the car. My friends tried to get the top up and finally did. They tried to soak up what they could, but the door sills, and gear shift still were full up water when I got back. Somehow- my garmin and ipod survived!

The seat was still wet the next morning. I think the floor mats are still damp. The car seems to be dry now after 2 days with the top down, but it smells. :(

I should mention the interior was completely soaked except for right under the floor mats. I came out to a rain forest of a car Saturday morning.

And of course I forgot to pull the floor mats this morning! :(

Well, I guess that is the ultimate test if our cars will survive rain with the.top down. I am impressed all the elictrical stuff works.  But it seems you are determined to be the rust queen!

Bobby, I did not realize the full story when you told me. You are lucky! Sorry luck costs so much!

Clay was really a good sport about the stump. He deserves his special prize.

Now, one problem. I am glad.to be back home with my family but I am already jonesing for a high speed run on those great mountain roads!

i prefer to call it the "rustice" at this point. Never have I seen so much rust on car on a "summer only" car

I picked up one of the shorty covers at covercraft just for this kind of thing. Short in and outs but still want to keep stuff out of view and the weather/sun off. They cost $99 and they roll up into just about nothing. They tie into the truck with clips so they can't sprout legs or become a 5 finger discount. Saves wear and tear on the main top...Critter

Hi,

It's have been busy the last couple of weekends adding mods to Sally. I completed the heat seats, DDMworks fender well kit, Venom Brace, I added the billet front top grill and replaced my PDX-5 amp with a PDX V9.

I am thinking of the DDM  fender kit as an add on, so i thought I would throw it out there and see what people's thoughts were on the product, the installation and the results as well as anything that cropped up that was not anticipated...Thanks, Critter

Works great!  Keeps the engine bay much cleaner.  Easy to install.  If you have a later model (mine is a 2009), the fenders are a bit thicker because the older ones cracked a lot and so it is a little harder to get them on and I had one pop off after a year.  But, they are cheap so no big deal if one occasionaly gets lost.

Nothing major, just pissed off because the car is not running as it should. If last race I did 13.3s now from 2 runs I could get  14.xx because on 3rd and 4th gear I was having like a limp mode with interruptions (misfires?).

Thanks. Mine is a 2007. The reason I keep asking these kind of questions is because I am not as handy as I'd like to be and try to know what I am getting into before I press PAY. I also don't want to waste mine time on items that have been dreamed up and have no functional value in the long run.....

Some days...unfortunately yes! :(
I planned to drive myself to go rafting so I left the top down. At the last minute, I was offered a ride so I just jumped in with Chili's hubby.  Didn't even think about it. Most of the water was out when I got back, but I'm told it was pretty bad. You know it's not good when people come up to you and say "We heard your car got flooded." Rather than, "We hear you left the to down in the rain."
