I found the secret is !, the car has to be running then the license plate light works . I was just clicking the key Fob the same as I do on my PT.

You don't have to have the engine running, it will turn on with just the running lights.

Well it didn't come on till started it tried it W/ light switch on ,W/key on . Only when I started it

Well we tested it by just turning the head light switch to the running light position, the engine was off, they worked just fine.
