I've been gone for a few weeks but it's been raining here for days they tell me. Good thing it's not colder as that rain would have been one heck of big pile of snow to come back to. Supposed to get colder this afternoon and turn to snow.

'Till it warms up here a bit all I can do to my Solstice is look at her and take a look under her cover once in a while. I for one can't wait for spring to come to Canada.

Oh, BTW, I drove my Kappa today with the top down on the way home from work, 65 degrees.  Then when I got home, the wife and I went out for drive with the top down....

Took it to the dealer for a CEL, brake booster pump is bad WTF? Didn't know we had one, seems mine was bad, made a weird noise when first starting out, that was it. I love my extended warranty! This weekend adventures in insanity at Joe's garage.

Just do a search for GMOUTLET.com they have the best deals, mine was $1000 for 3 more years and 48,000 miles. You have to get it BEFORE the factory warranty runs out, or before 36,000 miles I got mine at 35,500 so I used up the free warranty first. I have way more than paid for mine already, the radio that died was $576 bucks, add the thermostat, and bleeding the system 3 times and now the CV boot, and this brake pump thing.

OK here is the update on what was up with my car, first off the Dashawk read a CEL of P0258, that is not a vaild GM code the Tech II read a P258B which is a valid code and is the brake booster pump.

The 2007 Solstice GXP includes:
Quote:
....a hydraulic brake boost feature which supplements the power brake system to maintain consistent brake performance under conditions of low brake booster vacuum.

Low brake booster vacuum conditions can include initial start up after the vehicle has been parked for several hours, very frequent brake stops, or high altitude driving.

It was setting the code after being cold and when I started.

Isn't that the same part that caused quite a stir when GM removed it from the 08 kappas?

Jimimy, Jim, you have had a lot of problems!  How many miles do you have now?  That is not a good track record for reliability, and these are things I would not expect your mods to impact.

I checked the other board this brake booster problem was very common on the 07's, I read a post by Small Dealer about it, many cars had it before hitting 1000 miles. Mine has 37,000. Most of the problems I have had a very common, fuel rail and pump VERY common, my thermostat was not bad, they just replaced it to fix a problem they installed, air in the system, took me telling them what to do to get that one fixed on the third try. It was installed when the radiator temp sensor that feeds the ECM went bad, this one is not so common. I had a cam sensor go bad, also very common, Chuckdoc had same problem, the top was replaced, we all know that story. So most of the problems I have had a normal Solstice problems, most of these were fixed on the 08's and 09's. So all in all I have had one unusual problem, the rest were almost expected. That would be why I bought the extended warranty. I also live about a mile from the dealer and everything they do is free so why not take it in for every little thing. They take good care of me and never give me a hard time about the mods so why not.
