so many people buy Porsches in USA??
well, seeing this list, i suppose a lot of them will want to sell them and buy a kappa

Great results Treeman!!
you should teach Kelu how to race, so that he has some success too!!  :poke:

There are clubs many many times bigger than ours for Porsche. I go to track events where there are 200 Porsches all racing. And that is just in the NYC NJ area.

The Northern NJ Porsche Club has more members than this forum. That is one half of a state!

I think it's silly these cars were not fit with true HID kits from the factory like modern motorcycles so traffic can see this tiny car better.... the front end needs to sparkle...

One of the value adds for the redline vs the N/A is the headlights.
The projector headlights that came with the Redlines are both tinted and very bright.  I don't see the need to upgrade them because of how good they are.  It's like turning on the sun.

As an N/A driver, I will school you a little on this: the N/A lights have the SAME exact projectors.  I recently swapped in the Redline headlights and found them to be EXACTLY the same in construction other than the chrome inside rather than black.  Merely cosmetic.
Standard halogens will NEVER sparkle the way an HID does because of the kelvin and spectrum band the light will reach. It is the 'dance' of the Xenon gasses inside that creates the sparkle we all love.'  Plus, HID's draw less power and burn more efficiently once the xenon gas has been ignited inside the chamber.  because the low beams are tied in as a low-current 'daytime lamp,' installation of HID's is 'possible,' but is a headache to work around.  I'll probably do it now just in spite of your comment and post videos comparing my HID's versus standard halogens :)  kidding.    I appreciate the interplay on the forums.   That's what they are here for.... maybe once you all stop talking about cameras, we'll discuss cars again.....  ;)

Spring sucks, drove the coupe to work for the first time this year and more rain is being predicted starting tomorrow.  Kind of fun to watch people walk by it going: whazat?

BTW, if you want to check out an amazing shuttle pic:

the one from the ground is cool, the one from the airline passenger is amazing.

No it doesn't ever get old...

I was at a car show last weekend. A small local show, a weekly thing that a local charity puts on. LOTS of great comments on the car. Had one guy say that he thought that the silver around the windshield and behind the seats looked great and that it should have been that way from the factory. SOMEONE should work for GM's styling department he said. I laughed and told him it was stock.

The best was a young boy about 12 or 13 that came around. I had the hood open to show off all the powder coating under the hood and this kid came around the corner of the hood and looked at the engine. His eyes got as big as saucers and his jaw dropped. All he could say is a long and drawn out WOOOOOOOOOOW!

That was priceless, no it never gets old.

The funny part of it all was the fact that I was parked beside 3 Corvettes and they barely got a look.

Were you using a tripod?  With the extender, even with IS on you pretty much have to or a the least a monopod.  It turns F/5.6 into F11.2 so you'd either have to decrease your speed or raise your ISO to get a good stop action shot.

I'd really like to get EF 800mm F/5.6L IS, but mostly just for spying on the neighbors!

Yeah, those really high end lenses are a bit out of my reach. I use a Venti C169MB tripod. It's known for the capability to fold up to 14 inches in length and can fit inside many of todays camera bags. Don’t leave home without it.

I did not know that, Good to Know.   Thanks for the education.
I do know the HIDs are brighter but that the Stock Redline headlights are more than enough for me.
Compared to the other 3 vehicles I currently own, The sky headlights are far superior in the aspect of lighting and thus providing me with the ability to see.  Therefore, I don't see the need for an HID conversion.  On the receiving side, I find HIDS annoying, but I'm color blind and see differently than most people

O yea

Down at the Dragon, I went with the Mini group.
Last year a guy showed up with a White Lotus Exige.
This year he was not there, but I had numerous people who I had not met before come up to me and say it was good to see me again.
I later found out that they were confusing me with the Lotus guy.

Too Funny

J_Bond launches unabashedly in to danger!  Following orders from the Kappa Secret Service he and M devise a plan to take down the enemy.  Using his talents as an assassin, he combines fast reactions, a happy trigger finger and a devilish smile to both complete the mission, destroy the enemy and get the girl.  Armed only with a special watch from Q and his orders from M, he takes shot after shot at the establishment.  His ability to recover from beat down after beat down with merely a scratch is what makes him so popular around the world.  In this scene in particular, J_Bond takes on the evil Elff in a match of lights, reflectors and projectors.  Who will win?  No one knows.  But, as we've seen in the recent films, Bond doesn't always get the girl.... but he always comes back for more.

Yes, I plan on doing a DDM kit, but not until I've maxed the potential out of the 2.4L.  I'm doing a LOT of research on this motor through the various platforms it's found in.  Also, I am reducing as much weight as possible.  Norm's Viper Hood and fenders are absolutely on my list, and not just because the hood is lighter! LOL
my current wheel setup is 8lbs lighter at each hub, and the brakes and suspension components are lighter as well.  WERKS racing battery and gutted trunk.  Discarded the intake setup and plastics.
I'm looking to keep her a long time, so I'll be running maybe 6-7lbs boost with the supercharger.  I was running 21-23lbs boost on my SRT6, but that had an AMG Forged motor LOL!  (and she ran high 11's)
I'd like to upgrade the valve springs and maybe let the rev limiter hit 7600-7700 too......  makes me nervous though.  I barely tweaked the rev limiter when Dyno tuning her a couple days ago

Thanks, all!

AutoX = Fast Drivers - the car helps too!  Thanks to DDM and Michelin for these results.  I still have more to learn and know I could have gotten another second out of the car.

so many people buy Porsches in USA??

There are a lot of Porshces in the more urban areas.  This was a Porsche Club of America event that was odd by not having more non-Porsches.  Once guy came up to me before the event and said "we've spent a lot of money on these cars and don't go showing us up".  He, he, he!!!!

I know the picture's lousy but you can see them in a week at the MM.
