SCCA = Spoiled Children Crashing Automobiles

That works , but in reality more like SCCA = Simply Can't Change Anything.

Okay --- redirection. Went to the garage to finish what I attempted to do yesterday when I was interrupted by the intersection of physics, gravity, concrete, and dumbass !!!!! Good news is that Streak, while a victim, will benefit from a bit of cleaner/polish and then some wax. For those in NJ and W. Va., that will wipe off.. Empty plastic tubs followed me to the floor and a few brushed the right rear fender. Wish I was so lucky. So, the OZ wheel boxes were retrieved by a friend and we took them to the house to package up my 18x9s for shipment to Canada. Next, the new SP exhaust will be installed.

I left it a the dealer for that damn air in the cooling system issue, third times a charm right. Still no word on the Official GM TSB and the two check valves that at some point will be installed to permanently resolve the issue. I also have minor leak in my CV boot, and after sitting in the body shop my CD player quit working, radio is fine. I hope I get a new radio, told them not to install it if I do, I will sell it stock Monsoon with six disc and amp. The new system should go in very soon. Damn I love my extended warranty!

If you open the cooling system with the car hot and not running it will suck air into the cooling system and cause an overheating problem, an air bubble gets to the water pump and it cavatates until it clears, temps very quickly go over 250, and the heater blows cold air. It will usually clear itself in a minute or two but it is a pain in the ass!

Car has two CV boots, they cover the CV joints on the rear axles, my right rear has a minor leak, saw when we did the last oil change. It is not a big deal but it is free to get it fixed so why not.

Took car into shop to have top adjusted on the passenger side 1/4". Had the rear differential verified okay (road tested good too), and cleared code P0171 due to a loose oil fill cap on top of the engine... What a pain in the arse. A lot of time and troubleshooting to find a loose cap. Done by the dealer.

Have her back in garage in prep for rain this weekend. Next up is CAI, Probeam, and Race Backbone.

Hmm i'm surprised these 275's are as wide as my 295 hoosiers, i guess i might still have some rubbing issues under hard cornering in the back.

This morning I drove my Wicked GXP to the local Pontiac dealership to have a GMPP tune installed.  For the past few monthes my FETISH had been parked in my garage all  warm and fuzzy wearing her Covercraft car cover.

I had a difficult time refraining from speeding as is. I can hardly wait till my drive home with the tune.

Shouldn't. Stiffer sidewalls on 9" rims will mean less flex. The wheels are awaiting Canadian customers clearance to continue the trip. OOPS ..... just checked, they are moving again.

Bingo, i just looked at some pics of me going around turns and noticed that the sidewall of the 295 hoosier is almost perfectly inline with the 8" rim... that's some serious flexing.

Yesterday, Friday a balmy 58 degrees (& state holiday)   :yay:

Pulled out the hose, wash bucket & supplies & "blow dryer"

GXPsy got a thorough cleaning & wash followed by being blown dry.

dropped her top & went for a "quick" drive thru the neighborhood   :drag:

Still had snow piles to circumfent in the area.

Is it spring yet ?   :gaah:

Now she's all clean & sparklely for the "big rain storm" scheduled to hit us on Sunday   :cryin:

Just pulled my swaybar bushings & greased them. Only took about 30 min. & I didn't even have to jack the car, though it would have been a little bit easier. Now for a test ride.

Just roughed-in my Bluetooth setup (Parrot CK3000 kit plus QCGM-4 adapter cable).  Was plug & play except it also needs a switched power source.  Works like a champ!

Now I have to mount the box properly and hide away all the wiring (there's a LOT of it in the harness for the Parrot as well as the adapter harness).  I'll rough in the controller and mic for now though... need to play with placement (esp. the mic).

I removed a spacer from my brake pedal because it was a real reach to get to the gas now that I have new brake pads.

Also replaced my bad taillight and overinflated my tires so when it gets cold in the next few days it's in the right spot :)

183 Mile top down tour of WAY southern California. (at one point I was 300 yards from the boarder fence)  Found some great roads, hidden little towns, empty towns, and best of all, EMPTY ROADS!  Some of the roads were paved in the last 6 months and at times, I didn't see a car for 15 minutes!  Some great twisties, hills, straights, slants, bridges, narrows etc.

Had a great day driving.

GJ

PS- this in not intended to piss off any of you that are suffering cabin fever!  It just happens to be what I did today! :yay:
Make the right choices now
