Spring is here finally after a record 45 inches of snow in Olathe, Kansas this year.  Have had to take the "The Beast" out all winter, (our 2000 Lincoln Navigator) and it sure is nice to get to drive Miss Red Eagle again.  This winter is the worst ever and really didn't end til the last of March.  I have driven the Eagle every day since the last snow, even in the rain.  The birds are chirping and mating, young girls and boys are falling in love, and with the advance of Spring nature and our spirits are on the rise.  Now, I am beginning to decide what next to do on the Eagle, whether performance or cosmetic enhancements?   :2c:

Today I sprayed the Fetish's windshield and windows with RainX glass cleaner! I am so tired of cleaning windows, inside and out. Each time I turn on the heater or A/C the windows and windshield fog up...Streaks on the glass drives me insane!

What products do YOU use to clean automobile windshield and windows? No one smokes in the Fetish so this is not smoke film.

Fetish,
You are not alone with this.  I wash / wipe the windsheild EVERY time I drive.  It just does not stay clean and streaks easier than any car I have ever had.  I wonder if it has to do with the angle of the glass?  Non smoker here too, so that's not it.

I use regular Rain-X treatment (not the cleaner) inside and out on my car, but the trick to getting rid of streaks is how you clean them.

DON'T use glass cleaners such as windex or anything else.  DO use water, just plain old water, the cleaner the better. Here's what you do after you Rain-X:

Dampen a CLEAN hand-towel and wring it out.  It should be to the point that there is nothing driping from it.  Wipe your glass down with it and it should leave a tiny bit of moisture on the glass.  Use another DRY hand-towel to "buff it to a shine BEFORE the moisture evaporates.  Cotton works the best for this, but Microfibers are a close second.

One note of interest.  On my side windows, the manufacture's "sun-screen" treatment is streaked.  No matter what I've done, there is always a haze in the same places.  I've even tried to buff it out with compound to no avail.  The front and back glass are crystal clear though...

All I use to clean the windows and mirrors now is a damp micro fiber towel followed by a dry one.  I never have streaks or film now and it also works on any windows/mirrors in the house also.

I climbed a wall with glass cleaners and streaking until I tried Rain-X's windshield cleaner.  Works great!  Never tried just water though - maybe I'm wasting my money!  I use just a damp towel to clean the interior so next time I will also try a swipe with it at the windows.

All I use it water and towel and still, it doesn't last.  I am not sure if it's the sun beating down on the dash or what, but I will clean my window after an hour of driving.  Just doesn't seem to stay clean.

Installed a boost gauge, I'm so sick of the ECM reading pegged to 22,5 psi.

Removed wind deflector/restrictor as it didn't really do much at highway speeds.  Add Sol tonneau cover to the Sky I got for $100.  Painted the rear lower valence gloss black.  :)  Also painted the headlight bezel black which mimics the Redline.

Today I picked up some MAF cleaner, removed my MAF and cleaned it.
I also removed the pigtails on my GMPP kit but cutting off the butt connectors.
I soldered the wires together and heat shrink wrapped them and then rewrapped the whole section with Black electrical tape to make it look dealer installed.
I was going to swap in 2 new 3 bar Bosch sensors and didn't realize they were sent with the green O-Rings.

Does anyone know where I can get just the Blue O-Rings?
Once I replace these, if I get another P0101 I will swap the MAF and if I am still getting codes I will push the dealer for a new ECM just like GStage 1 did

More details on what I am troubleshooting can be found in this thread

Pat aka GXPsy Rose spent today doing Kappa cleaning. When she was done cleaning them I applied a fresh coat of Meguiar's Tec Wax. Looking good! Not too exciting, but that's what we did today.

I was just about to do that. What the heck size are the screws on the sensor. Having a heck of a time getting somethign to fit, but then it's hard to see too...

As for the o-rings, I broke one of mine so I had to buy a fuel injector o-ring kit for a replacement (took several calls from my dealer to GM tech to find this out). I still have a bit of a boost leak there, so I'm going to have to put in a thicker o-ring...

Ya, thanks, I just figured it out... For some reason I thought they were Torx screws, and nothing was fitting... Once I got enough light in there I saw there were #2 Phillips.

Clay bar'd the whole car today.  First time I have done it.  Much easier than I thought it was going to be and surprisingly, results as good as the hype.  Finish is smooth and clear.

Any suggestions for what to follow up with?  Wax, spit shine, nothing ?

Clay bars are pretty neat. Lots of water in the spray bottle and just keep kneading the bar to keep a fresh surface to work with.

So, what did I do "today". Nothing yet, but over the weekend we went to two Solos.  :drive:  :brnout:  I was way rusty and on Saturday did something I almost NEVER do - went off course TWICE.  :banghead:   on Saturday. All the off season changes (wheels, springs, alignment) worked great. Not so sure about the SP resonator exhaust, so the MagnaFlow is going back on for the upcoming Divisional. Sunday was at a different location. I shared the car with one of the better drivers in my Region and got SEE what the changes looked like. As expected, his times were better than mine, but not as bad as I thought they would be. Still some fine tuning to do. Amazing how different the car is on asphalt and concrete. With the 315s on 11s instead of 9s I was able to drop the pressures by 10 psi, and THAT is amazing. But I still can't outdrive Alex.    :idk: I'll just be less slow than he is !!!!!!!!!!!!!   :D
