I babysat it for 7 hours at the dealer waiting for them to diagnose everything but the problem I told them it had when I walked in the door - and then they found the problem I identified...
Typical.

I spent the weekend with about 25 of my closest Solstice and Sky friends on Skyline Drive! :)

Hey Mike, the typhoon affecting/effecting your area, or is it far enough north?

We got a little rain from the front end, but it only lasted for about 1.5 hours or so.  Now it bright and sunny out.  It's odd that when Manila gets hit, the weather always clears up down here.

Over the past few weeks I've been ordering parts.  My wife left on Thursday with one of our dogs for a weekend show in Atlanta.  When I got home from work on Thursday, there was a package from DDM waiting for me  :yay:  but the UPS guy just put it over our fence by the gate and the sprinklers had kicked on by then  :gaah:  Other than a soggy box, everything was fine.  My work has a 9-80 schedule (80 hours in 9 days).  This basically means that I had this Friday off and nothing to do other than work on the car   The weather was perfect in the low 70's all day!  What more could you ask for?  :idk:
I know that this post would be worthless without pictures, but I do have to appologize for the quality since my wife took the DSLR to the dog show and I used a camcorder  :barf:
What I started with:

My assistants:

I started by installing the check valves which were pretty straightforward.  Then I replaced the hose clamps with DDM's Tbolt kit.
A comparision shot, and then after installation:

I found out that the clamp behind the horn must be positioned so it doesn
t hit the wiring harness for the horn! but while everything was apart I ckecked the pcv-air inlet and the tube from the turbo to the intercooler for oil... none found (42k miles).

I changed the oil in the transmission with RP:

Then I installed the DDM backbone:

And finally I changed the differental oil to RP as well:

Since I didn't get to everything today, tomorrow I plan on adding clips to the trunk liner to prevent rubbing the top, fixing and adjusting the non-adjustable flaps, and a wash & wax.
And most important, a good drive!  :drive:

I would like to thank everyone on the forum for all of the excellent ideas, fixes, howtos and other advice.  :urock:

Noal,

Tranny oil still looked pretty good for 42K miles.  I have RP 75W-90 inbound.  Bought a case for $126 on ebay this morning.

Today was another perfect day for working on the car, but I didn't do much since the roads were calling

After a quick wash, she looks pretty good

The camera is so bad that you can't see the bugs that are still on there... no wax this weekend, another wash next week and then maybe a wax.

My passenger side tulip flap had stopped coming up altogether, and the driver side one didn't raise much.  The plastic clip connecting the cable pull to the flap was nearly broken on the passenger side!  I replaced both with generic door clips.  The original red one is the driver's side and the original purple one is the passenger's side.  The white and black are the replacements.

Then I adjusted the non-adjustable

Notice there is very little slack with the flaps down.  I tweaked the brackets holding the large spring loaded ends of the cable just under the flaps.  I also found out the hard way that you need a little slack in the full down position, because without it there is too much tension on the cable in the full up position with the top fully forwards.  :banghead:

I still need to replace the tape on the top 's frame where it slides on the tulip flaps...  mine is pretty rough.

After the mail arrived, I found that I had one more thing to do today...  my stick on lens arrived

This is my initial guess for where it should go... does anyone have a better recommendation?

I really wanted to fix the trunk liner where it rubs the folded down top...  and then there's a strip of fabric loose in the top (I'm guessing it helps guide on the cables when folded down???  I'll take pictures when I tackle that fix... btw that's what the wax paper and fabric glue were for in the original parts picture).  All of this will have to wait because the open roads are calling

Installed 2 Dejon Powdercoated pieces of Tubing today.

One was for Looks, the other for Looks and to pro-actively prevent a break on the lower intake pipe where the braided line attaches to it.
These 2

Really Tied together the engine bay, no more silver elbow on top of the turbo

The white piping looks very good.  I was thinking of changing tube color from chrome to starlight white on my DDM setup. Your setup really helps me visualize how mine might look if i take the plunge.

One thing of note.

DDM's white, is not Kappa Polar/Pure white.  It is a perfect match for the Mini Cooper color called Pepper White [My wife owns a 2009 Pepper White Mini Cooper S] which is not as bright.  More of a cream color.

I had the coil cover repainted to match the rest of my car.
