Kagem

How much do you think it would cost to ship a stock one from the US to Greece?
I'd be willing to give you my stock one if you pay for it's transport

Critter,

Trust me, I'm taking the camera with me.  I want to document every little scratch or ding they put in it.  :gaah:

Keep in mind that not all of that month was spent in a container, it went cross-country on a car carrier. Of course, they wash it (shudder) when it arrives at the VPC.   :'(

I was thinking about calling the VPC today and asking them not to.

The OIC put out the new "Welcome Aboard" package on Monday.  This is the first time I have seen anything in writing that POV's weren't authorised, so I went to the 1st Sgt and the OIC and told them it was on the way.  They weren't happy, but they are going to let it slide.  They had a bunch of reasons why it shouldn't be here, but I had a legitimate answer for each one.  Plus the fact that I'm the only Sailor attatched to the base and I technically fall under 3D MLG's rule in Okinawa and they all fall under MARFORK in Soeul (Whom, BTW, are authorised POV's).

I told them also, that since its now a permenant duty station that we should fall under the USFK policy since every other US base in Korea is authorised POV's.  I think I may have opened the door for the rest of the E-7 and above to have POV's here...

Okay, here's the valve and coil cover. You wouldn't know it from the picture but the coil cover is a metallic silver. The valve cover is powder coated the same blue as the car. The CAI and the DDM charge tubes are the same blue.

Thanks Jim. I destroyed the braided hose that was attached to the corner of the valve cover. After I got it off I disassembled it, straightened the tabs and reassembled it. I didn't find out until I got the cover back and tried to re install the hose that I was going to be able to reuse it.

CrateEngineDepot found a Solstice Tonneau cover for me and it was delivered today.  I had read all of the reviews about it, so I knew what I was getting into.  Why did I buy it?  I just thought it would be a good edition to have with my Solstice before these covers are hard to get, plus they look fun to drive with....like the tonneau covers the old Spitfires had...kind of a Classic look.

I semi fit it by installing the snaps into the tulip which only required replacing 8 existing screws.  I only have to drill 3 holes into the body...not big deal to me.

The disadvantage I see is having to remove my WR, no place for it with the tonneau cover on.  It doesn't look like any type of WR will work with this setup.

Something strange that I had never noticed before when screwing in the last snap on each end of the tulip down in the corner......Black putty.  I had to move some of the black putty out of the way to access these screws.  My guess is that the putty is there to divert water away from getting into the trunk and into the drains right under them.  Anyone else notice or have this putty?

Made me think of the water tests our cars went through at the assembly plant and how if a leak was detected, the car was pulled aside and the leak corrected.  I'm thinking this putty was installed to correct a possible leak detected on my car.  The black putty does not look like it was part of the assembly process.  I will try to post a pic of it tomorrow.

Wow elff, thanks buddy! Didn't expect such generosity to a stranger from the other part of the world as myself! You mean the tube part from after the intake until the turbo? ( http://img545.imageshack.us/i/dsc07574.jpg/ )? I suppose the transport cost should be around 30$-50$, maybe you can find out here http://postcalc.usps.gov/
Once more thanks again for your willingness!  :urock:

Made in Japan? Earthquake, tsunami, power shortages leading to shortage of the tires? Not entirely impossible.

Yeah GJ ya' might just be on a lucky streak!   :D

Ok, I'm dumb.  I have seen references to "tulip" and I have been trying to imagine which part this is.  I even did a little search on it hoping that it would return a result with a picture or two.  To no avail.

Anyone kind enough to show me what a "tulip" is (and no, not the flower/plant type) ?

Thanks :D

MAYBE a Flyswatter will work with two small grometed holes in the Toneau cover.

You are not imagining things and surely you are not that lucky :P

There are two in 245/45/18.  One is in a close-out sale at $154 and that's what you picked.  The other one is $189 and it's at "regular" price.
